Susan Balonek Obituary
Mrs. Balonek was born July 5, 1947 in Erie, Pennsylvania a daughter of the late Lawrence and Margaret (Emling) Smith.
Susan found immense joy in the simple blessing of a blooming garden , a passion that mirrored the love and care she bestowed upon her family . Her adventurous spirit led her to explore new horizons, each trip a chapter of a well lived life. Amidst all her travels, her favorite destination was always home. She cultivated a legacy of love, character, curiosity and warmth that will flourish in our hearts forever.
Susan is survived by her husband, F. Peter Balonek, Jr. of Elba; daughters, Val St. John of Batavia and Cynthia (Luis) Rodriguez of North Chili; grandchildren, Jon Peter Sanfratello, Leah (Ryan) Balonek-Mickley, Madelyn St. John, and Noah St. John; brother, David Smith of Florida; sisters, Gail (Joe) Raziano of Florida and Leslie (Rito) Cordero of Pavilion.
Along with her parents, Susan is reunited in death with her sister, Sybil Galliford.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Crossroads House, PO Box 403, Batavia, New York 14021. Susan and her family are being cared for by the Burdett & Sanford Funeral Home, 11 Maple Avenue in Oakfield.
