Susan Barr, age 70, of Burlington KY, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 11, at Villa Springs Skilled Nursing Facility surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on June 5, 1955, in Northern Kentucky to Bernard and Dolores Gilkeson. She married the love of her life, Steve Barr, with whom she shared beautiful years filled with laughter, devotion, and deep affection. Susan had a childlike heart that radiated warmth and kindness. She especially enjoyed crafts and puzzles, filling her home with her handmade creations and a beloved collection of teddy bears that brought her comfort and joy.
She is survived by her husband; daughters, Sarah (Michael) Kohlhause, Tina (Matthew) Densford; grandchildren, Cooper and Ryder Kohlhause, Elijah and Savannah Densford; brothers, Ernest (Mary) Gilkeson, Jeff (Sheila) Gilkeson; sister, Becky Mullins; stepson, Jeff; stepdaughter, Jennifer; and 4 step-grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who hold fond memories of her. Susan was preceded in death by Bernard and Dolores Gilkeson; brothers; Keith Gilkeson, Gary Gilkeson; sister, Diana Gilkeson.
A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, October 15, at noon at Delhi Park in the Floral Paradise shelter.
