February 26, 1965-May 11, 2025

Susan Brooks, devoted wife, mother, little sister, and doting grandmother finished her work here on earth and is now resting peacefully with The Lord.

Susan spent most of her life working hard, while putting everyone she loved first. You knew Susan meant business with her infectious grin; but when she smiled, she did this through her eyes with an unconditional love for you.

She was always by her husband’s side on their boat or a river-bank fishing, on the ATV, on the baseball field, in the woods, or just simply planting in the garden. She did everything he did for 31+ years as they just did life together and loved every minute of it. His best friends were hers as well.

Always ready for the next adventure or beach trip to come, but her pride and joy were her two grand babies, Miles Motley and Gwendolyn Mitchell. Nana made sure they were happy, always first priority, and perhaps even slightly spoiled.

Susan had an untouchable bond with her two sisters , Donna and Ginger. If you have had the privilege of knowing the “Begley Girls” then you know…

Preceded in death was her Mother and Father, Donald and Ruby Begley; and her nephew Jason Duncan.

Surviving is her husband, Kevin Brooks; daughter, Bobbie Brooks; two grandchildren, Miles Motley and Gwendolyn Mitchell; sisters, Donna Tuch and husband, Steve Tuch; Ginger Whetsel and husband, Rick Whetsel; nephew, Austin Rader; niece, Alexis Willis and husband, Michael Willis; great nieces and nephew, Ayva Willis, Amelyia Willis , and Mikee Willis, and her dog, Charlie.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 18th, from 5:00-7:00pm in the Chapel of Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. A funeral service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m.

Graveside services will be held Monday, May 19th, at 1:00pm at Oak Hill Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Miles Motley, Austin Rader, Steve Tuch, Rick Whetsel and Mike Willis.
