Susan Burd Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Tasker Funeral Home - Dover on Feb. 27, 2025.
Susan Marie Burd, 73, of Newmarket, NH, passed away peacefully on Saturday February 22, 2025 after her long battle with Primary Progressive Aphasia, a rare form of dementia. Born in Hartford, Connecticut on November 11, 1951, she was the beloved daughter of Robert Brewer and Pasquina Marsh.
Susan was very driven and spent her career working at National Grange Insurance Company which later became Main Street America Insurance Company she was the Regional Marketing Director of New England. She was very talented at interpersonal communication and was beloved by all her employees because not only was she a good boss and friend, but she truly understood the importance of a work/life balance.
Susan's life was filled with music. She loved to sing and to dance and take long car rides with her children, blasting mixtapes and singing along at the top of their lungs. One thing Susan was especially proud of was her membership in the Voices from the Heart, a women's chorus group based in Portsmouth, NH. Through singing with this group and raising money, she was able to travel to Croatia, Cuba, and other places to help make the world a better place by providing a helping hand and song.
Two things that Susan was avid about in life were dogs, and staying active. She loved to run and participated in races when she could, in her later years she would take long walks and fill her coat pockets with dog treats to hand out to all the neighborhood dogs. She really enjoyed travelling and sailing with her beloved husband, Ronald, who sadly predeceased Susan in 2021.
Above everything else in life, everything else she enjoyed, her family was the most important thing to her. She loved her children so much and often told her friends that they were the best thing that ever happened to her. She formed a deep connection with her grandchildren and was the classic doting grandmother to her many grandchildren.
Susan is predeceased by her parents Robert Brewer and Pasquina Marsh, and her husband of many years, Ronald Burd. She is survived by her children Kacie, Kari, Brett, Kathy, Marshall, and Jeff; her grandchildren Jackson, Briar, Mackenzie, Brayden, Jaqueline, Meagan, Kristen, Josh, Heather, and Chris; Multiple great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other beloved family members; Susan is also survived by her dear close friend of many years Pam.
Susan was truly a strong and sturdy presence in the lives of so many. She made every gathering special and every conversation meaningful. She will be greatly missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing and loving her.
Susan is under the care of Tasker Funeral Home in Dover, NH. A visitation will take place Saturday, March 8, 2025 at Tasker Funeral Home from 1:30 PM - 3:30 PM followed by a service. Burial will take place at a later date in the spring.
