Robert Joseph McCann

Robert Joseph McCann of Dover NH born August 12, 1936 passed away peacefully in his sleep at St. Ann Nursing Home in Dover NH on February 22, 2026.

He was born and raised in Dover and lived there for most of his life with a brief 25 years in Barrington NH.

Bob leaves behind his beloved wife Jeanne of 59 years, his sister Anna Swanson of Webster at Rye, his daughter Jennifer Brown and her husband Tom of Connecticut, his son Michael McCann and his wife Lyn of Eliot Maine and his youngest son Dennis McCann and his partner Kim Gates of Rochester NH.

Bob lived for his grandchildren Tyler, Jack, Lindsay, Jordan, Hunter, Noah, Charlie, Michael and Tanner.

He was a lifelong fan of the Red Sox, Patriots and Celtics. He enjoyed a wide variety of music and you would often hear anything from smooth jazz, Earth Wind & Fire, The Doobie Brothers, Chicago to his go to of Frank Sinatra. A drummer at heart - he was always tapping to music.

Bob was a proud graduate of Dover High School, a devout Catholic spending some time after high school at the Saint Thomas Seminary in Bloomfield CT with plans to be a Priest but after meeting his beloved the path changed.

Bob was loved by everyone who met him. He loved to be around people and was known for his smile, bright blue eyes and personality that made everyone want to be his friend. He would always find just the right words to compliment and brighten someone's day.
