Susan Angela DeConte 76, of Johnston, passed away at Hope Hospice Palliative Care Center in Providence on September 3, 2025. She was the daughter of the late Domenic and Mary (Petteruto) DeConte. She was the beloved mother of three children: Dina Needham and her husband Jeremy of Cranston, Rhode Island; Stephen Evangelista and his wife Adriana of Eldersburg, Maryland; and David Evangelista and his wife Carmen of Vigo, Spain.
She also leaves her grandchildren: Dylan, Mallory, and Alyssa Needham; Sophia and Nick Evangelista; and Jon and Paul Evangelista.
She was a proud graduate of Bay View Academy and Rhode Island College. Susan dedicated more than 30 years teaching in the Johnston School system, including many years as a 5th grade teacher at Windsor Hill School.
Beyond the classroom, she was a gifted singer whose voice uplifted those around her. Proud of her Italian heritage, she carried her family's traditions forward with love. Susan's warmth, strength, and creativity touched all who knew her, and her memory will remain a blessing to those whose lives she graced.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, September 8, 2025 at 10 am in St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 1804 Atwood Avenue, Johnston. Burial will be private. Visitation omitted. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to National Shine of St. Jude’s, 205 W. Monroe St. Chicago, IL 60606 National Shrine of Saint Jude

Sorry I can´t be there for your funeral but thinking about when we were kids.
You were always religious so I think even though your time on earth was shortened I know you are resting in peace in heaven!
I´m sure the DeConte Family are all happy again together!
