Susan Freund Obituary
Suzy enjoyed an idyllic childhood growing up on Archdale St in Detroit with her family and friends, especially her best friend of over 70 years, Mary Pat Ivory. Later she would live in Park Ridge, IL and Naples, FL where she relocated to in 1981. Suzy was an avid boater and loved being by the water, the beach and enjoying sunsets.
Suzy owned and operated a mortgage business for over 20 years. She was known for being very hardworking and dedicated to her clients. Suzy's most favorite time of her life was raising her two daughters and enjoying spending time with her cherished grandson Max Wallace.
She is survived by her daughters Julie Nicole (Pugh) Johnston of Estero, Fl, and Jill (Pugh) (Shawn) Wallace of Erie, PA, grandson Max Wallace of Erie, PA, brother William Rudolph Freund of Hermosa Beach, CA formerly of Farmington Hills, MI, John (Jenny) VanNorman, Dawn VanNorman, Brian Russell of Troy, MI.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her aunts Evalynn (Erv) Winston, Dorothy (George) Peters, Uncle Elmer (June) Moler all from MI and nephew Billy (Sue) Freund of Manhattan Beach, CA, and her best friend Mary Pat Ivory of Troy, MI.
Suzy will be remembered always for putting her family first, her kindness, lovely smile and infectious laugh, incredible strength, stoic nature, and pure generous heart.
Suzy's life will be honored at a memorial service held at the Oakview Cemetery in Royal Oak, MI at a later date.

Deepest condolences to the family. I, too, grew up on Archdale, next door to the Ivory´s (the Russell´s bought the Lepine home.) Our parents, Margaret & Raymond, spent many summer evenings with Rudy & Cookie on their front porch.

Our Mother and her brother had a wonderful childhood growing up in Detroit with a close knit family. Their father would make ice rinks in the back yard often, they grew up around ice speed skating. Their beloved grandparents Fannie Moler (Harvey Moler) owned & operated a hardware store then a Drug Store at Coolidge & 7th with a soda fountain enjoyed. Our mother would visit daily as they lived on the same street. Our mom met her best friend (Mary Pat Ivory) of over 70 years there as well. You all lived a beautiful good life.

Oh my goodness....they are together. I am so very sad to hear of Suzie's passing, but found it interesting that she and her dearest friend Mary Pat, who passed so unexpectedly only months ago, are now reunited forever. I too grew up on Archdale and lived next door to the Ivorys and across the street from Suzie and Billy. My most sincere condolences to all of you, and assurance that you are consoled by all of your memories of her.
