Susan Lee (Yeamen) Gaisbauer
November 23, 1941 – November 1, 2025
Susan Lee Gaisbauer, age 83, of South St. Paul, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on
November 1, 2025, at United Hospital in St. Paul.
Sue was born on November 23, 1941, in Los Angeles, California, to John E. and Martha M.
(Bruggermann) Yeamen. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, James R.
Yeamen.
Sue was married to the love of her life, Herman J. Gaisbauer, for 64 wonderful years. Together
they built a life centered on family, love, and laughter.
She is survived by her husband, Herman; three daughters, Shelley Haggerty (Bill), Cathy
Chavez (Chris), and Kristine Gaisbauer; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and her
brother, John T. Yeamen (Rachel Imholte).
Sue worked for many years as an aide with South St. Paul Public Schools, where her kindness
and patience touched many lives. She was deeply devoted to her family and had an endless
love for animals-over the years she welcomed countless dogs, cats, squirrels, birds, fish, and
any other creature in need of a home.
An excellent cook and baker, Sue's kitchen was the heart of her home. Family and friends will
fondly remember gathering around her table, sharing her delicious meals and the warm
conversation that always followed.
Sue's compassion, humor, and love will be dearly missed and forever remembered by all who
knew her.
