Susan Gilbert

Susan Ellen Gilbert, 79, of Westminster passed away on 21 December 2025 at Sinai Hospital. Born on 3 November 1946 in Saginaw Michigan, Sue was the loving daughter of Louis and Myrtle, whose families immigrated to this country during WWII. Sue was a devout Roman Catholic and will be met in Heaven by her son Joseph, and nephew Joey. Sue enjoyed spending time with her 7 children, 14 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren; visiting exotic plant nurseries and landscaping her 5-acre homestead; and attending craft and woodworking fairs. Sue is survived by her loving husband, Daniel Gilbert, by her seven children, her sister, Jeanie, her brother, Joe, her fourteen grandchildren, her four great grandchildren, her three nieces, and her three nephews. A memorial mass will be held on Monday, December 29 beginning at 11:00am with a eulogy starting at 10:45am, at St. John Catholic Church, 43 Monroe Street, Westminster, MD, where Sue was a long-time parishioner and managed the alter-boy schedule for 12 years. Sue will then be laid to rest in Mount St. Mary's Cemetery in Emmittsburg, on a hillside overlooking garden paths. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be offered to the Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN).
