Susan Hayes Obituary

Susan volunteered for the Round Lake Beach Elementary District and was a known Francophile. She enjoyed listening to opera, gardening, taking her dogs for a walk, and traveling. In addition, Susan was a devoted friend and mentor to many neighborhood children who thought of her as a second mother.
Susan is survived by her husband of 50 years, Kermit Hayes, her 1 nephew, her 3 nieces, her many great-nieces, and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, her brother and her parents. A private service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the City of Hope Cancer Center in Zion or the American Cancer Society. All funeral arrangements were entrusted to Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium 410 E. Belvidere Rd. Grayslake, IL 60030. For more information log onto www.strangfuneral.org or contact (847)223-8122.

I worked with Sergeant Hayes several years ago. I am very sorry to hear about the passing of his beloved wife Susan. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Sergeant Hayes and to all who share in his grief at this time. Richard and Maria Welton
