Susan was born on September 25, 1950, in Aberdeen, South Dakota, and grew up on a farm outside Wetonka, SD. She carried the strong work ethic, faith, and warmth of her rural roots throughout her life.
Over the years, Susan built a meaningful career and lasting friendships through her work with Carefree Floors in Cave Creek, AZ. Before moving to Arizona, she spent many dedicated years at Karl's (formerly Aberdeen TV and Appliance) in Aberdeen, SD, and at John Morrell. Her professionalism, humor, and kindness left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
A woman of deep faith, Susan was active in her church and found great comfort in her relationship with God. She cherished sunny days by the pool, motorcycle rides, shopping trips, and her ever-present Diet Coke. Most of all, Susan treasured time with her family, hosting Christmas gatherings that became cherished traditions before her move to Arizona. Susan's warmth, generosity, and steadfast love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Susan was a devoted mother to her surviving sons Jesse, David (Betsy and her children Cole, Isabella, and Lilly), and Matthew Anderson; a proud grandmother to Harrison, Hunter, and Huett Anderson; her beloved niece, Wendy (Jeff) VandeBerg; nephew, Ross Walker, and their children and grandchildren, who all held a special place in her heart. She was also eagerly awaiting the arrival of her first great-grandson.
Susan was preceded in death by her cherished husband, David Herr; her parents, Martin (Ole) and Lucille Sherman; her sister, Ginger Walker; and her loyal dog, Maximus.
