Susan Harris Johnson

Susan Harris Johnson, 75, of Colonial Heights, went to be with our Lord and Savior on July 26, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents Luther Garland and Bertha Roe Harris, brothers Luke and Ricky Harris and her nephew Neal Harris. Susan was a graduate of Petersburg High School class of 1968, where she made many lifelong friends. She retired from the Petersburg School Board Offices and later from Sears. Susan will be remembered for her feistiness, her well expressed opinions, always being the photographer at every event and her love for drag racing but she will be remembered mostly for her heart of gold and love for her family and friends. She is survived by her son Christopher Tyler (Susanna), sister Jean Bittender (Nat), brother Richard Mason Harris (Brenda), nephews Mason Bootie Harris Jr., and Ricky Harris Jr., nieces Penny Grubbs and Abby Johnson, great-nephews Luke Harris and Brett Harris, great -nieces Gabrielle Harris, Lydia Grubbs and Caroline Johnson, along with numerous amazing cousins and friends. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 1, 2025, in the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory 2033 Boulevard Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834. A private family burial will be held on Saturday in the Kenbridge Heights Cemetery Kenbridge, Virginia.
