Sue L. Kern, 69, of Marietta, Ohio, passed away on November 15, 2025, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. She was born in Marietta, Ohio on September 13, 1956, to Ambrose and Dorothy (Beardmore) Kern.
Sue spent many years working as an Assistant Director for the Indian Summer Festival. She also worked for Marty’s Print Shop, the Gianfagna Group and the Geiser Foundry in New Mexico.
Sue was a dedicated and skilled gardener. She loved her flowers and had an incredible green thumb. Sue was happiest sharing her flowers with friends and family.
Sue is survived by her partner and dedicated care giver, Jerry Koon; her siblings, Pat Keerps (David), Jim Kern (Sue), Joyce Morris (Keith), Jeff Kern (Andrea) and Steve Kern (Diane); sister in law, Joy Kern; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; and many friends, including her furry friend, Satchee.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Michael Kern.
The Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home is assisting the family with cremation arrangements, and a celebration of life will be announced at a later time.
