Susan "Sue" Kosuk

Susan Kosuk, 70, of Middleboro, Massachusetts passed away at her home on July 20, 2025, with her wife Christine Hoyle and son Jesse by her bedside after a brave seven month battle with pancreatic cancer.
Sue was born in Chelsea, Massachusetts on August 28, 1954, the daughter of Annie (Dushinski) and Stephen Kosuk.
She earned an associate from Bunker Hill Community College and then attended Cornell University. Because of her love of animals, Sue spent some time working as a veterinary technician prior to transitioning into her career as an ultra-sonographer, with the last years before her retirement in her favorite, obstetrics.
Sue spent most of her life in the over 200 year old farm house that she spent decades renovating with her own designs, plans, carpentry, and general handiwork. There was a never ending list of renovations and yardwork that she poured her heart and soul into. Despite all that needed to be done at home, she was always willing to lend a hand to help others when they had something that needed fixing, a medical issue they needed help understanding, a medical procedure they were preparing for, a mechanical problem, or a computer issue they did not understand. Sue liked to think of herself as "MacGyver" and lived up to the role. She was always willing to help move things with her truck or share homemade food and recipes. Sue had a small farm raising mainly goats and chickens and welcoming several dogs and cats into her home. She loved growing both flowers and vegetables in her gardens, including many Dahlia's and a wide variety of organic vegetables.
The last few years have been filled with Lego, gaming, foam flinging (better known as Nerf), art, and 3D printing that Sue enjoyed with her son, Jesse. One of their last projects together was building a full Master Chief suit which he has worn to numerous events.
Recently, her longtime interest in reading many genres of books led Sue to making new friends through multiple book clubs and Table Top Gaming groups such as Dungeons and Dragons. Her leadership in Lion Rock and Recovery Dharma increased her interest in Buddhist practices and enabled many individuals to find new meaning and direction in their lives.
In addition to her wife Christine Hoyle and their son Jesse, Sue is survived by her brother Stephen Kosuk and his sons Nicholas and Anthony, Christoper; her sister, Carol Pezzuto, her husband Dominic, and their sons Shawn and Dominic; her grandnephew Issac and grandniece Cassandra; and many close friends, including her previous partner and good friend, Pamela Reinhard and Pam's sisters Hermene and Norma.
Thank you to Cranberry Hospice as well as to Pam, Hermene, Norma, Sue, Fran, and Christine's Mom Jan, whose care enabled Sue to remain in her home and provided respite for Christine and Jesse. The loving support of family and friends brought positive moments during this difficult time.
