Sue was a beloved member of the community and leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and a passion for her family and her cherished hobbies. Sue was a longtime member of Nativity Lutheran church and graduated from McHenry High School. Throughout her life, she made a lasting impact on those around her.
For over 30 years, Sue dedicated her career to Jewel Food Stores, serving the community as a loyal and hardworking employee. Her dedication and friendly nature made her a beloved figure to both her colleagues and customers. She approached her work with enthusiasm and a genuine desire to assist others.
One of Sue's greatest joys was tending to her yard and making it a beautiful and welcoming space. She took great pride in adorning her yard with vibrant flowers. Each spring, she eagerly anticipated the opportunity to plant her hanging baskets, bringing life and color to her surroundings. Sue had a special fondness for hens and chicks, and she lovingly cared for them in her garage with a heater, ensuring their survival during colder months before returning them to their designated spots in the spring. She enjoyed admiring her yard from her screened-in back porch, complete with a light-up palm tree, which doubled as a summer sanctuary for her and her three beloved Siamese cats, whom she treated as if they were her own children.
Sue had a zest for life and enjoyed simple pleasures. She loved getting pedicures, donning flip-flops, and spending time at the beach. As a sun goddess, she relished in the warmth of the sun and delighted in collecting seashells, each one reminding her of the enchantment of mermaids. These moments were particularly special to Sue, as they evoked memories of her son Danny, who had a successful career as a diver both in the Navy and in his professional life.
Above all, Sue cherished her family. She found immense joy in spending time with her sons Jim and Danny, who held a special place in her heart, as well as her grandson little Jimmy, who brought her immeasurable joy and companionship. With her deep love of family she also enjoyed any opportunity to spend time with her mother, who was her best friend, father, brothers and sister in-law's. Family gatherings were a source of happiness and connection for Sue.
Sue LaGreca will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, her unwavering devotion to her family, and her passion for cultivating beauty in her surroundings. She will be deeply missed by all those whose lives she touched. May her memory live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
