It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of Susan B. Levine, 73, of West Hartford, who left us peacefully after a brief and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer, surrounded by her loving family. Born on October 28, 1952, New Haven, Connecticut, she was the daughter of the late Miriam and Joseph Bess.
Susan is survived by her devoted husband of 47 years, Harvey; her children Jennifer (Ryan), Matthew (Debra), and Michelle; her seven cherished grandchildren; and her beloved sisters Barbara and Arlene. Susan devoted her life to her family—every moment, every choice, every joy was rooted in them. She cherished her children and grandchildren with a full and generous heart, and they cherished her just as deeply in return.
A woman committed to community and connection, Susan served as co past president of the Beth David Sisterhood and volunteered with Meals on Wheels, sharing kindness wherever she went. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures—especially trips to the casino, where she loved playing the slots, and time spent with her family, whose presence brought her the greatest happiness.
She fought to the very end with grace, strength, and unwavering love. Her absence leaves a profound void, and she will be deeply missed.
