Susan Jane Lloyd, a dedicated educator, loving wife, and sister, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2025, in Salisbury, Maryland, at the age of 73. Born on May 13, 1952, in Delaware, Susan brought a spirit of passion and creativity to everything she touched throughout her life.
Susan's lifelong love of learning led her to pursue and achieve a master's degree in education, a testament to her belief in the power of knowledge. Her career, spanning 28 years as a cherished teacher in the school system, was marked by her thoughtful approach to teaching. Her students remember her as a mentor who taught not only with books but with heart, fostering an environment where every child felt valued and inspired to reach their potential.
Her husband, Alan Lloyd, will treasure the memories of their shared life, her steadfast support, and the joy she brought into their home daily. Susan also leaves behind her loving sister, Martha Houghton, who will miss her dearly. She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Elizabeth Heninger, who instilled in her the values of kindness and generosity that she carried throughout her life.
Susan was a woman of many passions, finding solace and happiness in the company of her beloved pets, her cat Peanut and dog Benny. Her home was a place of warmth and laughter, where animals and humans alike were nurtured by her gentle spirit.
