Susan Lynn Matus

Susan Lynn Matus, age 63, of Cleveland, Ohio, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on December 15, 1961, to the late Patrick and Carol McDonnell, Susan lived a life defined by creativity, compassion, and unwavering devotion to those she held dear. Susan was the beloved wife of 27 years to Michael Matus, with whom she built a home filled with warmth, laughter, and enduring love. She was the cherished mother of Nichole (Richard) White, David Schaefer, Douglas (Kelly) DiCaro, Michael (Samantha) Dicaro, Julia Matus, and Michael (Elsie) Matus. Her legacy lives on through her grandchildren-Austin, MacKenzie, Michaela, Nate, Zuri, Riley, Ezekiel, Travis, Ryan, and Garrett-each of whom she adored and celebrated with pride. She is also survived by her devoted siblings: Linda (David) Badt, Patrick (Catherine) McDonnell, and Barb (Bill) Bilinsky, as well as her treasured cousins, affectionately known as "The Tremendous Twelve," of which Susan was the founding member. Susan's artistic soul touched every corner of her life. Whether crafting handmade gifts, designing decorations for weddings and showers, or simply adding beauty to everyday moments, she was always creating something meaningful for someone she loved. Her talents were matched only by her generosity-she gave freely of her time, her skills, and her heart. Above all, Susan was an extraordinary wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her family was her greatest joy, and she poured herself into every role with grace and devotion. Her presence was a gift, her love a constant, and her memory will be a guiding light for all who knew her. Visitation will be held at Sunset Memorial Chapel, 6245 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070 on Tuesday, September 9, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at the Sunset Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at 10 a.m. with burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Park (Pinewood Garden Mausoleum, Tier GG, Crypt 6).
