Susan Miller

Susan (Cottrell) Miller, age 71, of Fort Wayne, IN passed away peacefully on Monday, November 17, 2025, at The Towne House Retirement Community.

Susan was born on July 28, 1954, in Alabama and shortly thereafter moved with her family to Fort Wayne, Indiana, where she grew up and made lifelong memories. She began her education at St. John's Catholic School in Fort Wayne and later attended Bishop Luers High School, graduating in 1972. Susan went on to pursue her passion for caring for others at the Indiana University School of Nursing.

After completing her nursing degree, Susan moved to Indianapolis to begin her career & family before eventually returning home to Fort Wayne.

Susan was the devoted mother of three sons: Brian of Fort Wayne (Megan), Scott of Oslo, Norway (Martine), Chris of Madrid, Spain (Stefanie).

She was also the proud grandmother of five beloved grandchildren.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mary Ann Cottrell. She is survived by her three sons; her brothers, Thomas Cottrell and John Cottrell; and her sisters, Judy Dusman and Barb Earhardt.

Susan will be remembered for her incredible sense of humor and her love of sharing laughter with friends and family. She was known for her kindness, gentleness, and deeply caring spirit. An exceptional listener, Susan had a gift for making others feel truly seen and valued. She took time to understand people as individuals and formed meaningful connections with everyone she met.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Employee Fund at the Townhouse, 8330 Allison point Trail, Indianapolis, Indiana 46250 in honor of the compassionate care Susan received.

Susan's warmth, generosity, and joyful presence will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

All services will be private per the family's wishes.
