Susan Carol Raines

Susan Carol Raines, age 72, of Waco, TX, and recently of Fayetteville, AR, passed away Friday, October 3, 2025. She was born November 25, 1952, in Mount Clemens, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Graham Proctor and Carol Sue Meitzner, and her son James Raines.

Susan was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a daredevil who wanted to be a race car driver before meeting the love of her life and marrying Jim Raines in San Francisco, California in 1972. Together they raised four boys.

Susan lived a life devoted to the Lord and her family. She was a committed prayer warrior, and her boys gave her many reasons to pray. She gave everything to the Lord and found peace in him.

Survivors are her husband, Jim Raines; her sons, Brian E. Raines and spouse, Bevin Barker Raines, Johnny Raines and partner, Jessie Skaar, Eli Raines and spouse, Amy Raines; fifteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and her brothers, Michael DeGraw, David DeGraw, and Daniel DeGraw.

A memorial service will be held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church on Thursday, October 9 at 3 pm. Private interment will be held in Fairview Memorial Gardens at Fayetteville, AR. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Canopy of Northwest Arkansas. To place an online tribute, please visit www.bernafuneralhomes.com.
