Susan Lucille Rogers (Moore), of Waynesville, North Carolina, passed away on November 4, 2025, at the age of 69.
Born on November 22, 1955, in Waynesville, NC. Susan remained deeply connected to the mountains of her home state throughout her life. Her roots in North Carolina were a source of strength and comfort.
Susan was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Billy Ray Rogers. Together, they built a life centered on family.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, April Basinger, and April's husband, Shane Basinger; daughter Brooklyn Smith and her husband, Tyler Smith, along with their son Westyn and daughter Adalynn-Grace; and daughter Felicia Matthews and her husband, Logan Matthews. Susan also leaves behind Stepgrandchildren Kaity and Braden Basinger.
Daughter, Kimberly Rogers;son Nathaniel Goodson and Angela Shelton; daughter Susan Goodson; and Nick Goodson.
Daughter, Katrina Rogers, and her husband Juan Reyes; son Alexander Reyes; son Rodolfo Mitzi-Calapa and his fiancée April Pilcher; along with their daughter Azlina Mitzi-Calapa; son Zayden Mitzi-Calapa; daughter Leti Cervantes and fiancé Trevor Kalis along with their sons Axel and Nerio Kalis; Leti's father Nerio Cervantes; Stepdaughters Rosa Reyes and Maria Reyes.
Daughter, Amanda Rogers; sons Chris Perez and AJ Apaseo.
A woman who found joy in life's quiet moments, Susan took great pleasure in tending to her flowers. Her garden was a reflection of her nurturing spirit-a place where beauty flourished under her gentle care.
A Celebration of Life will be held on November 15, 2025 at 1:00 PM, at Bethel Rural Community Organization, 664 Sonoma Rd., Waynesville, NC 28786.
May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
