Susan Ann Snyder passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home on Trout Creek Road on August 2, 2024. Susie was 60 years old.
Susie was born on November 17, 1963 in Lander, Wyoming to Samuel and Belverda (Meyers) Snyder.
Susie was a lifelong resident of the Wind River Indian Reservation. She attended school at Fort Washakie Elementary, Lander Valley High School, Haskell Indian Nations College and the University of Wyoming. Susie studied accounting while in college and utilized that knowledge to take care of herself. Susie enjoyed spending time with her family and friends as well as beading, sewing and crafting. Susie was an award winning and well respected bowler. She was inducted into the Wyoming Bowlers Hall of Fame for her dedication to the sport and her bowling accomplishments. Susie worked as an office manager for the Wind River Tax commission, Eastern Shoshone Tribal Attorneys office, Marathon Gas at Winkelman Dome for many years before going to work at EST Construction until her retirement in 2023. Susie enjoyed her time with the "crew" at EST construction. Although Susie never had any children of her own, she was "mom" to all her nieces and nephews and loved them with all her heart. Her grandkids loved having her come over to play. Susie didn't know the word "no" when it came to them. If there was something that they wanted or needed, Susie would make sure they got it. Susie made friends wherever she went and was an easy spirit to know. In her younger years, Susie was legendary as a party animal, tipping over cows with her bronco "Cujo". Using her "war bag" to even the odds in a scrap. She lived life forward and made it all fun. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.
