Susan Sperling Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Wasik Funeral Home - Warren on Jan. 8, 2026.
Susan M. Sperling, of Detroit, passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at the age of 71. She was born November 21, 1954, in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Victor and Eleanor Sperling. Beloved sister of James Sperling, Robert Sperling, and Sharon (the late David) Adams. Cherished aunt of Robyn (William), Ryan, Blake, Peter (Karen), and Daniel (Laura). Adoring great-aunt of 13. Also survived by many loving friends and family members.

A devout Catholic, Susan's life was a testament to her deep relationship with God. She was an active member at St. Mary Magdalen in Brighton and St. Joan of Arc in St. Clair Shores. Susan was defined by her "good heart". She possessed a rare and genuine empathy, truly caring for everyone she met. She lived by the principle of putting others before herself, and she would do anything in her power to help someone in need. Whether it was a kind word to a stranger or tireless support for a friend in need, Susan was a constant helper in a world that deeply needed her. Her legacy will continue to live on in the countless lives she touched through simple, quiet, acts of service. She believed that no act of kindness was too small, and her life truly reflected the true meaning of Christian charity.
