Susan Lynn Vaughn Kelly
November 3, 1952 – October 21, 2025
Susan Lynn Vaughn Kelly, 72, of Ringgold, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, October 21, 2025. She was born to the late Robert Lee and Betty Gray Vaughn. Susan was born in Greensboro, North Carolina, and moved in 1993 to the Chattanooga, Tennessee area. She attended Christ United Methodist Church. Susan was an active member of Tomorrow's Place when she lived in Greensboro and enjoyed the friendships and activities it provided. She was a Doterra Advocate and an international business owner with Sunrider. She loved arts and crafts, gardening, and beautiful flowers, but most of all, she cherished her family. Susan was an excellent cook and enjoyed cooking for her family, especially baking with the girls. Susan was a wonderfully devoted woman who was very protective of her family and loved ones. She always treasured every moment spent with her family, enjoyed shopping trips with the girls, and had fun at home with her constant companion and much-loved dog, Mango. A loving, sweet, and kind-hearted person, Susan will be dearly missed by her family and everyone who knew her.
Susan is preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Harold and Betty Bennett; father and stepmother, Robert and Peggy Vaughn; previous husband, John L. Stanaway; and uncle, Kenneth Sharpe.
Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband Jim Kelly and her much loved dog, Mango of Ringgold, Georgia; children, Julie (Matt) Ziegler and Will Hobbs, both of Ringgold, Georgia; stepchildren, Amanda (Anthony) Gass of Trenton, Georgia, James Kelly of Ringgold, Georgia, Maranda Kelly of Ringgold, Georgia, Kim Horton of Lake Mary, Florida, and Jeff (Liz) Stanaway of Seattle, Washington; daughter-in-law, Allison Hobbs of Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia; sister, Elizabeth (Darren) Hadley of Greensboro, North Carolina; brother, Ben Bennett also of Greensboro, North Carolina; grandchildren, Brooke (Chris) Semratedu, Blake Ziegler, Gracen (Haili) Hobbs, Raven Hobbs, Gavin Hobbs, Matthew Horton, Tyler Horton, and Naomi Stanaway; great-grandchildren, Blakely Crowe and Bennett Semratedu; step grandchildren, Zachary Kelly, Brezsea Fugate, Brytnee Barton, Christopher Wehunt, James Kelly, Shaniya Kelly, Xavier Dunnington, Xzander Dunnington, Xane Dunnington; several step great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
