Mr. James Buford Nuckolls

James Buford "J.B." Nuckolls age 87, of Rossville, Georgia went to be with The Lord Wednesday morning on October 22, 2025. He was born in Dalton, Georgia to the late John and Edna Sue King Nuckolls. J.B. served his country in the U.S. Army and was a proud veteran. He retired from Combustion Engineering where he worked for many years as a boilermaker. After his retirement, he continued working at Dixie Industries for a few years. Following that retirement, he became known as "Hey, Old Man." "Hey, Old Man" took on many roles, such as fishing, welding, woodworking and fixing many things that others tore-up. Even welding a tractor seat back on and asking the owner to try it out while it was still very hot. He enjoyed mischief to the extreme, most often at others expense. Many things he enjoyed, yet he loved his beloved family most of all. He was a member of the Tompkins Masonic Lodge #466 F&AM. J.B. was of the Baptist faith and came to know The Lord as his Savior late in his life and he affirmed his faith in Jesus as his Savior in baptism at Bayside Baptist Church. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Gloria Sue Lance Nuckolls and sisters: Ethel Ammons and Barbara Gallman. He is survived by his beloved daughters: Debbie (Rodger) Teague of Wallaceville, GA, Tina (Tommy) Nichols of Rock Spring, GA, his sisters: Kathy (Brian) Hinton of Ringgold, GA, Johnnie Nuckolls, his very cherished granddaughters: Michelle (Dalton) Blevins, Savannah (Frankie Parsons) Sherrill, Tasha Padgett, great-grandchildren: Jessy and Jenna Blevins, Dallas and Easton Parsons, several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am – Friday – October 24, 2025 graveside at West Hills Cemetery in Dalton, Georgia. Arrangements by W.L.
