TOMMY JAMES NUCKOLLS

Tommy James Nuckolls, age 47, of Mt. Sterling, passed away Thursday, August 14, 2025. Tommy was born June 17, 1978 in Okmulgee, OK, to the late Charlene Nuckolls. Tommy was a huge fan of the Oklahoma City Thunder Basketball, finally seeing them win the 2025 Finals, and OU Football. He enjoyed collecting old toys, shoes, sports memorabilia, and firearms. Above all, Tommy loved spending time with his wife Stephanie and their family and friends. He especially adored his two dogs, Zoey and Macy, who were always by his side. Tommy loved Jesus and strived to share the love of God with others. He was a gentle spirit and had a heart of gold.

Tommy is survived by his wife of 19 years Stephanie Smithpeter of Mt. Sterling; 4 brothers Billy (Laci), Terry, Tony, Stephen all of Okmulgee, OK; 3 sisters Karen of Okmulgee OK, Linzie of Okmulgee, OK and Jeanette of Tulsa, OK; several aunts and uncles: Mike, Carol, Kathy, Milford, and Linda; and many nieces and nephews.

Tommy was preceded in death by his mother Charlene Nuckolls, his grandmother who raised him, Dorothy Stutchman, and uncles Donald and Lester.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 22, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. at Herald & Stewart Home For Funerals Chapel. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until time of service at 7:00 p.m.

Officiating will be David Dooley.
