Susan Joanne Weed

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Susan Joanne Jensen Weed, who passed away on May 10, 2023, at the age of 59. Susan was born on November 2, 1963, to proud parents William G. and Mary Anne (nee Schutter) Jensen, and resided in Beverly Hills, Michigan.
Susan was a creative soul with a passion for home design and decorating. She had a knack for turning any house into a warm, welcoming home and was frequently helping friends & family turn their dreams into reality. Sue was a gracious host to many intimate parties at her home and could always be counted on for beautiful tablescapes, delicious food, and lots of laughter.
In addition to her creative pursuits, Susan was also a supporter of Special Education. She helped to form the Friends of Different Learners organization in 2000 and ultimately became its president for the 2004 to 2006 school years. Friends provides resources to parents and staff of Birmingham Public Schools to help maximize the potential of students with different abilities. In addition to serving on the Friends Board, for many years Sue taught all the fourth graders in the school system during the annual Disability Awareness Workshop.
Susan is survived by her husband, Timothy Weed, and their children, Alexander Jensen Weed and Jenna Victoria Weed (Drew Steffes). She is also survived by her sister Marie (the late John) Schwalenberg, her brothers, Bill (Karen) Jensen, Chris (Sherry) Jensen, and Kenny (Robin) Jensen, as well as 22 nieces and nephews. Susan was deeply loved by her extended family and friends, who will miss her warm smile, infectious laughter, and kind heart.
Her legacy will live on through the countless lives she touched and the memories she left behind. Susan's passing is a great loss to her family, friends, and community. She will forever be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, friend, and advocate, and her contributions to the world will not be forgotten.
Family will receive friends Wednesday, May 17, 2023, 3-8pm at A.J. Desmond & Sons (Vasu, Rodgers & Connell Chapel) 32515 Woodward Ave. (btwn 13-14 Mile) Royal Oak. Funeral Mass Thursday, May 18, 2023, 10:00am at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs, 32340 Pierce Street, Beverly Hills. Visitation begins at 9:30am.
