Susan M. Woods

Susan M. Woods (née Devine), 72, of West Deptford, passed away on April 7, 2023. Susan was born in Passaic, NJ; she resided in Blackwood for seventeen years before moving to West Deptford twenty-two years ago. She was a respiratory therapist at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Camden for twenty-five years. Susan was a communicant of Holy Angels Parish, St. Patrick Church in Woodbury.
Susan is survived by her husband C. Geoffrey Woods; children Jennifer Chandler of West Deptford, NJ, Jason Darnell and his wife Rachel of Blue Bell, PA, Colleen Decker and her husband Patrick of Paoli, PA, and Yvanna Sherman and her husband John of Philadelphia, PA; brother Paul Devine and his wife Karen of Blue Bell, PA; her grandchildren Jenna, Justin Jr., and Jared Chandler, Brett and Sydney Darnell, Avery and Fiona Decker, and Lillian Sherman. Susan is also survived by a large extended family (one of fifty first cousins) and a loving group of lifelong friends.
Susan was deeply devoted to her faith and to her family. She loved to be surrounded by her family, especially on holidays. Susan was quite creative, and was an expert seamstress and an impeccable decorator. Susan also loved her dogs, and over the years has rescued and nurtured many greyhounds. She loved to cook and, more importantly, feed her guests and loved ones. All who have been blessed by Susan's light and zeal for life know that nothing mattered more to her than laughter, love, and family.
Visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 14 at DAVIS & WAGNER FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, 171 Delaware Street, Woodbury, NJ. This will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. at Holy Angels Parish-St. Patrick Church, 86 Cooper St. Woodbury, NJ. Interment, immediately following Mass, will happen at St. Joseph Cemetery, Blackwood, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at stjude.org
