Compean Funeral Home - HoustonSusana Lopez Garcia, a beloved member of the Houston community, passed away on March 27, 2026, in Pasadena, Texas. Born on May 8, 1962, in Houston, Texas, Susana lived a life marked by kindness, warmth, and an enduring spirit that touched all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Susana was known for her caring nature and gentle demeanor. She always carried a smile on her face that brightened every room she entered. Her infectious laugh had the remarkable ability to bring joy and comfort, lifting the spirits of those around her. Susana loved to joke around and found happiness in sharing moments of laughter with friends and family. She was deeply selfless, always willing to put others before herself and would readily offer a helping hand, even if it meant giving the shirt off her back.
A devoted mother, wife, sister, and grandmother, Susana held her family at the core of her world. She adored children and took great pleasure in childcare, nurturing young lives with the same loving care she showed her own family. Above all, Susana treasured her role as a grandmother. Her granddaughter, Eliana "Eli" Grace Parra, was the apple of her eye, and Susana delighted in showering Eli with love and gifts, always eager to make her smile.
Susana is survived by her loving mother, Guadalupe Lopez; her husband of 29 years, Asencion Garcia; her son, Matthew Brian Lopez; her brother, Jorge Lopez; and her sisters, Maria Isabel Martinez, Patricia Ann Soria, Maria del Carmen Sandoval, and Angelica Maria Molina. She is also remembered fondly by her cherished granddaughter, Eliana "Eli" Grace Parra.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Raul Lopez and Juan Daniel Lopez, whose memories live on in the hearts of the family.
Susana’s legacy of kindness, laughter, and selfless love remains a beacon for all who knew her. Her spirit will be deeply missed but forever cherished.
