Susanne M Durnell

Susanne M. Durnell (nee Gehr) 76 of Lorain, passed away at her home on Wednesday, December 31, 2025. She was mostly a homemaker who enjoyed reading, crocheting, crafting, and making and painting ceramics. Susanne was well known for her cooking, especially peanut butter balls that everyone fought over. She loved riding on their Harley with her husband Terry, and she always looked forward to drinking wine on their patio with neighbors. Susanne also loved her dogs Sasha, Cody, Sophie, Sassy, and Luna. She especially loved spending time with her family and will be greatly missed by them all.

Susanne is survived by her loving husband of 57 years Terry; her children, Stefanie Durnell Shuster (Michael Cervantes), Michelle Vukan (Keith), and Westley Durnell (Jackie); grandchildren, Gabrielle Shuster, Alexandra Frankowski (Jeffery), Jameson Shuster, Xavier Durnell, Kaethe Durnell, D.J. Vukan, Jacob Vukan, and Keith Vukan, Jr.; great grandchildren, Gavin and L.J. Frankowski; and her siblings, Michael Gehr (Paula), Bud Gehr (Anna), Melanie Poley (Randy), and Christian Gehr (Lora). She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Dorothy Gehr; and a brother, David Gehr.

The family will hold a Celebration of Susanne’s life at a later date.
