Susanne Micha Elseroad

Susie Elseroad (68) was called home to heaven on December 30, 2022. She lived a life full of love, joy, kindness, generosity, and faithfulness. Susie was a sold-out Christian who modeled her faith in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior to everyone who knew her. Her life was a living testimony that brought so many to know God's unconditional love for us. Susie was the consummate Pastor's wife serving beside her husband, Rich, for 43 years in two churches: Good Shepherd Lutheran in Gardendale, AL and Grace Lutheran Church in Knoxville, TN. She was a high energy person and always thinking of others. Everything she did was done with excellence. She cherished friends, was a great gift giver, loved Christmas, chocolate, Cherry Coke, and celebrating all of life's occasions like birthdays, weddings, baptisms, baby showers and every holiday. Susie never missed an opportunity to travel to Europe, even forming a travel company so she could afford it.
Susie is predeceased by her stillborn child, Stacia, and her father, Markus Micha.
She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Rich; mother, Freia Micha; children, Stephanie Elseroad, Stuart (Annie) Elseroad, Stanton (Aubrey) Elseroad, and Steven (Erin) Elseroad; granddaughters, Genevieve, Hope, Vera and Gwen Elseroad; and brothers, Dan Micha, Vincent (Sue) Micha, and Chris (Edith) Micha.
Susie's Celebration of Life will be held at Grace Lutheran Church, 9076 Middlebrook Pike on Friday, January 6th. Visitation will begin at 10 am; the funeral at 11:30 am followed by a luncheon.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grace's Social Ministry or to Compassion International.
