Susanne Plank

Susanne Plank, 57, of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at home, on October 17, 2025.
Sue was born on June 13, 1968, in Lancaster, the daughter of the late James R. and Mary Jane (Myers) Plank.
Sue was known for her strong independence, hard work ethic and her unwavering love for her animals. A proud graduate of McCaskey High School, she carried those qualities with her throughout her life.
She had a lifelong passion for riding and caring for her horses, caring for her dogs, or just enjoying the funny things they do.
She loved roller skating, riding horses, reading mystery novels and also enjoyed writing her own suspense novels-each one full of imagination and skill. She also loved crafting and YouTube videos.
Sue's animals were truly her family. She shared a special bond with her beloved dogs-Bear, Basil, Taser, Tango, Brahma, Cruiser, Kevlar, Bubba, and Wreckster. Her horses-Pat, Curly, and Buster-held a cherished place in her heart. Although the list of dogs and horses is longer than we can name, these animals were a few of her favorites. She cared for each of them with deep devotion and tenderness. Her compassion for animals was a defining part of who she was-kind, loyal, and endlessly giving.
She is survived by her siblings, Sharron Love and Steven Plank and his wife Jennifer; and by her nieces and nephews, Adonis Love, Madison, James, and Blake Plank.
Sue's strength, and compassion will be deeply missed by her family, her friends, and by all the lives-human and animal-that she touched.
A Funeral Service in celebration of Susanne's life will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2025 at 6:00PM at Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., of East York, 3670 E. Market St., York, PA 17402 with her brother, Steven Plank, officiating. Interment will be private. A viewing will be held on Thursday from 5:00PM – 6:00PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to "Pitties Love Peace", in honor of Susanne's lifelong devotion to animals.
