Susie Pruitt Cook

Susie Pruitt Cook, 87, of Cumming passed away Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

Born August 17, 1938, Susie was a lifelong resident of Cumming. She was an active member of Concord Baptist Church where she belonged to the Jimmy Moore Sunday School Class and was involved in the nursery, kitchen and VBS. Susie loved her children and grandchildren so very much and her face would light up any time she was with them. She always made sure they were at practices, chorus concerts, ball games, worked in the concession stands and supported them in any way she could. Susie also loved going to gospel singings, playing bingo at Ingles and listening to local music groups at McDonalds on Friday mornings. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hank Cook; parents, Harmon and Dessie Pruitt; sister, Ethelene Garrett; daughter-in-law Noelle Cook; niece, Dianne Garrett Holland; nephew, Marvin Garrett;sister-in-law and best friend, Ann Lou Pearson; and special neighbors, Harley and Dot Walls.

Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Suzette and Chuck Burt of Dawsonville; son and fiancé, Jody Cook and Kimberly Dooley of Dawsonville; grandchildren, Jacob Cook, Franklin Burt and girlfriend Lauren Frost, Camilla Jaid "CJ" Burt; Kara Cook; John Burt; many other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 30, 2025 at 11 a.m. at Concord Baptist Church. Pastor Scott Gilbert and Rev. Tom Camp will officiate. Interment will follow in Sawnee View Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday August 29, 2025 from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. and on Saturday August 30 from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m.

In lieu of flowers donations are requested in memory of Susie to the Concord Baptist Church Building Fund, 6905 Concord Road, Cumming, GA 30028.
