Cathy Suzanne Eckman, 75, of O’Fallon, MO, passed away Saturday February 15, 2025.

She was born to the late Paul and Ruth Eckman on December 4, 1949, in Lancaster, PA. Susie graduated from Lampeter Strausberg High School and received a nursing degree from Lancaster General College of Nursing & Health Sciences. She married Mark Smith in August of 1972, and they lived together in Grand Rapids, MI, before moving to St. Louis, MO, in 2003.

Susie was a loving and faithful wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a devoted follower of Christ, who sought the Lord throughout her life. She faithfully attended church during her years in Michigan and Missouri. Susie enjoyed a nursing career and a period of time when she was a stay-at-home mother with her girls in their younger years.

Susie is survived by her husband Mark, daughters Sarra Bragdon of Spokane, WA; and Becky Zeigler (wife of Ben) of Jacksonville, FL, and six grandchildren. Also surviving are brother Rev. James Eckman (husband of Margaret) of Omaha, NE; and sister Debbie Neff (wife of Tom) of Lancaster, PA. She is predeceased by her parents, Paul and Ruth Eckman, and brother Robert Eckman.

A viewing/visitation will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home from 10 a.m.- 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 1st, 2025. A memorial service will be held immediately following at 11:00 a.m.
