Suzanne Blackburn, age 54, of Greenview, passed away on Monday, August 19, 2024, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.
Suzanne was born on July 13, 1970, Springfield, the daughter of Lawrence and Charlotte (Willis) Wohler.
She married Jason Blackburn on June 3, 2000.
Mourning her passing are her husband, Jason, children, Adeline (Addie) and Elijah (Eli); parents Lawrence and Charlotte Wohler; sister, Amy Wohler, brother, Joe (wife Alicia) Wohler; several aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family members.
Suzanne was a loving wife and mother and so very proud of her children. She loved the simple life in the country and felt blessed to be able to raise her children in the house her great-great grandfather built when they settled here in the late 1800s. Her roots were very important to her.
She graduated from Greenview High School, attended Springfield College in Illinois.
Suzanne worked for AT&T with the title of “Senior Specialist Regulatory Affairs” and in November would have observed 30 years of employment with the company. She loved those she worked with at AT&T, they were more family to her than co-workers.
She was a member of Greenview Christian Church where she assisted with VBS and youth programs. She was also a member of Historic Marbold Farmstead Association where she was a volunteer and donor.
Suzanne loved collecting antiques, specifically, toys, coffee tins and tobacco tins, especially if they were blue. She loved her Heirloom Soap Works soap and candles from the Antique Candle Company. She enjoyed Pinterest and Instagram. She valued the relationships established there and considered many of them to be her friends.
Visitation for Suzanne will be held on Monday, August 26, 2024, 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Mott & Henning Funeral Home in Athens.
Services will be held at Greenview Christian Church in Greenview at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, August 27, 2024. Burial will be held at Elmwood Cemetery in Greenview, immediately after the services.
Memorial contributions can be made to Greenview Christian Church or the Historic Marbold Farmstead Association.
