Suzanne Cambre RN, BSHA, passed away on August 7, 2025 after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. At her passing she was surrounded by her family and went peacefully to be with her God. Suzanne (aka Sue) is survived by her husband and partner of 44 years, James W. White of Tucker, GA, brothers David Cambre (Sue) of Alpharetta, GA, Steve Cambre (Joyce) of Newnan, GA and sister Kathi Cambre Kelly (Gary) of Alpharetta, GA. Suzanne is also survived by nieces and nephews including Brittany Cambre Foster (Will) recent arrival great nephew Alexander Finn Foster, Megan Cambre, Cambre Kelly, Jeff Cambre, Steve Cambre and Laura Cambre Mulholland. Suzanne is further survived by many other relatives and friends. She was proceeded in death by her parents, Wilfred (Bill) L Cambre Jr and Dorothy Brown Cambre.

Suzanne was born in New Orleans, LA on September 4, 1946 and lived in many areas as her father Bill, a VP of Eastern Airlines, was relocated multiple times during her childhood. She attended Holy Name Hospital School of Nursing in Teaneck, NJ, receiving her RN in 1967 and later in her BS in Atlanta. She worked in the OB department at Miami's Baptist Hospital then moved to Atlanta with her family. Suzanne worked at Piedmont Hospital for 43 years where she was proud to be the nurse assistant to Dr. Mark Silverman, head of Cardiology and the CCU. Upon retiring from Piedmont she worked at Northside Hospital for 7 years with Dr. Barry Silverman, Mark's brother. During her career at Piedmont Suzanne authored and co-authored numerous patient education booklets including "The Sensuous Heart, Heart Attack Bouncing Back, Lady Take Heart, Angina "and several others.

She was an avid reader, frequently finishing 2-3 books a week. Her Kindle was one of her best friends. She loved old classic movies, musicals and poetry. Throughout her life she graced friends and family with her original poems for special occasions. However her most enduring quality was her empathy and concern for her fellow man, whether family, close friends, patients or someone she just met. A quote from Dr. Mark Silverman is indicative of her feeling for others: "I really care greatly about my patients…Sue worries about them." All who met her shortly became aware that she was a very special person. She was loved by many and will be missed by all.

A funeral mass will be held at her church, Holy Cross Catholic Church, on Friday, August 22, at 11am. A reception will follow at the church. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to her favorite charities: Doctors Without Borders, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to the Holy Cross Church.

As this is a celebration of Suzanne's life attendees should not feel obligated to wear mourning attire.

Sue...I first met you in 1986 when I interviewed for a job with Dr. Silverman. You were so welcoming and kind....I knew it was the place for me. You both were so supportive. After working for 20 years, I knew I had made two wonderful friends...you were known as "Dr. Sue" by so many of our patients. They loved and trusted you dearly....Your place in this world will long be remembered. Always, Linda
