Suzanne Marie Fox, 77, of Goodlettsville, TN, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2025. Born on October 20, 1947 in Nashville, TN, Suzanne lived a life marked by dedication, kindness, and service to others.
Suzanne was preceded in death by her parents, Fay P. Fox and Alice B. Fox of Millersville, TN. She leaves behind her brother, Frank Fox, his wife Pat; their daughters, Penny Fox and Lori Fox Cordle (Ryan); great-nephews, Andrew, William, and Damion; and great-niece, Sophia. She was a cherished family member whose warmth and love touched everyone around her.
Following her graduation from White House High School in 1965, Suzanne began her higher education journey at David Lipscomb College, where she graduated with a degree in elementary education. She then began her career teaching in Sumner County, TN at Millersville Elementary School, while working on her Master’s degree in the evenings. Once she completed graduate school at Middle Tennessee State University, she went to work for the Sumner County Board of Education as the supervisor for elementary teachers. Her commitment to education eventually led her to serve as the Supervisor for Federal Funding with the Tennessee State Board of Education, where she made a lasting impact on schools across the state. After retiring, Suzanne continued her service as the secretary for Millersville Church of Christ where she was an active and devoted member.
Suzanne found joy in music, particularly as a member of The Sweet Adeline’s, where she shared her voice for a few seasons. She was also a caretaker of animals. She cared for numerous stray dogs and cats who crossed her path and even rescued a duck who was being picked on by his fellows at the local park pond. With the help of her parents, she helped Lucky Duck get back into shape and returned him to his pond, where he lived a long life.
Suzanne’s faith, friendships, love of animals, and family were the cornerstones of her life, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
