Suzanne Carol Hottman, age 80, of Arlington, TX, passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 2024.
Suzanne was born in Rockford, IL on February 12, 1943, daughter of Byron and Marion (Schrom) Anderson. She graduated from West High School, Class of 1961. Suzanne married Allan F. Hottman on August 19, 1967, in Rockford. She was a longtime member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church.
Sue had a great love for animals and had many furry friends over the years. She loved taking care of the birds, squirrels, and her outdoor plants. Her heart belonged to her beloved, faithful companions Allie and Dalton.
Sue enjoyed keeping in contact with friends and relatives through social media where she was deemed the emoji queen.
Sue spent several years working in the office at Boylan High School, where she was considered a second mom to many of her children's friends. She retired from Johnson & Maurer Realtor to spend more time with her grandchildren and family.
She loved taking care of others and was a mentor to many special friends.
Suzanne is survived by her children, Wendy (Scott) Barranco of Batavia, IL, James (Leigh) Hottman of Winnebago, IL, and Deborah (Jason) Scott of Arlington, TX; grandchildren, Caleigh Hottman (Eric Kuzmenko), Cameron Hottman, Tyler Hottman, Richard J. Kibiloski, Benjamin Barranco, Zachary Scott and Anthony Barranco; great-grandson, Casper Hottman; brothers, George (Chris) Anderson and Steven Anderson (Jean Gerth); nieces and nephews, Stacey (Allan) McInnis, Nathan Anderson, Camas Anderson (Jason Heisey) and numerous cousins and relatives. She is also survived by her special friends, Karen Steiner, Jerri Lu DalCollo and Anna Boyd. Predeceased by her parents and husband, Allan Hottman.
The family would like to extend a thank you to the staff at Medical City of Arlington for their care and compassion, especially Veronica and Tammy.
Visitation will be Thursday, January 18, 2024, from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 6:30 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 3910 N. Rockton Ave. Rockford, IL 61103. Mass of Christian burial will be Friday, January 19, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 2400 Bell Ave. Rockford, IL 61103. Burial will conclude in St. Mary/St. James Catholic Cemetery, Rockford, IL.
