Suzanne Stone Kinney, 80, of Naples, Florida (formerly of Burlington, VT), passed away on December 15, 2025. She was born in Burlington, Vermont, October 26, 1945, the daughter of Eleanor L. and Guy W. Stone, Sr. She lived in Naples for 46 years.

In her early years, one of Suzanne's notable accolades was when she was named "U.N. Girl" at Central School in South Burlington, VT, in fifth grade as her birthday fell closest to the United Nations 10th anniversary. She was responsible for blowing out the candles and planting a shrub commemorating the event. She went on to graduate from Burlington High School in 1963 and the Mary Fletcher Hospital School of Nursing in 1966.

As an avid Beatles fan, she often shared lighter memories from this time, such as attending one of the first Beatles concerts in North America and dressing up as the band with classmates by wearing mops on their heads for a talent show. She took a road trip across the United States in her mustang along with multiple trips to Europe including her siblings and parents.

Suzanne worked as a registered nurse in pediatrics at the Medical Center Hospital of Vermont. She married Dennis Kinney in 1972. After two years of pediatric nursing in Honolulu, Hawaii, she returned to Vermont, but missed the tropical weather and followed her parents to Southwest Florida, settling in Naples in 1979. She continued her pediatric nursing career at Naples Community Hospital. Suzanne often served as head nurse and worked nights so as to spend as much time with her two children as possible.

Upon her early retirement, along with more time with her children, she enjoyed watching and attending football games, traveling, time in her pool, reading, walks, time with friends, and Hallmark movies. When she became a grandmother, "Sukie," always had a unique experience or gift for the next meeting with her granddaughters with the most memorable being a first Disney trip!

She is survived by her two children, daughter, Dr. Megan Kinney Kaufman (William) of Naples, FL/Wrightsville Beach, NC, and son, Ryan Michael Kinney (Emelyn) of Naples, FL/Pleasant Hill, CA. She is lovingly remembered by her two grandchildren, Kinney Lee and Eleanor Pearse (Ellie) Kaufman. She is also survived by her brother, Dr. Guy Stone, Jr. (Sandra) of Williston, VT/Vero Beach, FL, and her sister, Debra Stuart of Milton, VT/Austin, TX. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and their children. Suzanne was predeceased by her parents Eleanor L. Stone and Guy W. Stone, Sr. and brother-in-law Joseph Stuart.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, January 10, 2026, at 11:30am with family visitation at 11:00am at the Moorings Presbyterian Church, 791 Harbour Dr., Naples, FL. Reception to immediately follow. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to Moorings Presbyterian Church, 791 Harbour Dr., Naples, FL 34103.
