Suzanne C. Roberts

Suzanne C. Roberts, a native of Marlborough, MA and resident of Vernon, CT passed away at her home on February 7, 2026 while surrounded by her family. She was 86 years old.

Born May 28, 1939 to the late Carson and Marguerite (King) Woodworth, Suzanne grew up in the Marlborough area and graduated from Marlborough High School, class of 1956. She went on to graduate from the Worcester City Hospital School of Nursing in 1959.

She married Noel R. Roberts on May 28, 1960 and began her nursing career at Leominster Hospital that same year. In November of 1962 the pair welcomed their first child, David, followed by their second child, Karen, in August of 1965. In 1967 the family moved to Vernon, CT where Suzanne began working as an RN at Rockville General Hospital. She worked in a variety of positions there through the years, but eventually took a position as a surgical nurse, a role she maintained for the bulk of her career. She retired from nursing in 2004 after 37 years.

After retirement, Suzanne happily served as a daycare provider for her beloved grandchildren, allowing David and Karen to focus on their own careers. Her grandchildren, along with their friends spent many summer days at her home, enjoying her pool and backyard. She loved taking them on day trips, to Silkworm games, and to her camper for weekends.

Suzanne loved the outdoors and spent her free time working in her yard and tending to her pool. She loved walks along the trail where she and her special fur-baby Bella had many friends to visit along the way.

In addition to her parents, Suzanne was preceded in death by: her husband Noel R. Roberts, Jr.; her siblings – Carson Jr., Alfred, Jean, Peggy, Pauline, Shirley, Carol, and Cynthia; and a grandchild, George Noel Montminy.

She is survived by: her children – David Roberts and wife Kimberly, of South Windsor, CT, and Karen Montminy and husband Denis of Vernon, CT; and her grandchildren – Julia Montminy, Brett Montminy, Lindsey Montminy, Christopher Roberts, Caitlin Roberts, Tristan Roberts, and Jordan Roberts.

Friends and family are invited to Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Road in Vernon, CT for a visitation on Saturday, March 7, 2026 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM, when her memorial service will begin.
