Suzanne G. Roland, age 85, died Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at her home. She was born in Detroit on November 2, 1937, daughter of the late Everest and Virginia Moreeuw (nee: Steiner).
Suzanne was married to the love of her life Jim for 59 years. Together they created many wonderful memories over the course of their lives. She loved being a mom to her three beautiful children Eric, Mark, and Jenée, who were the love of her life! She was an extremely family oriented person and was always there for her loved ones. In her younger years, she enjoyed a 21 day trip to Europe, sightseeing the many wonders and tourist attractions there. She especially enjoyed visiting her native Belgium on that trip. Throughout her life, Suzanne volunteered at Bon Secours Hospital, bringing comfort and joy to the many patients that she came in contact with there.
One of the many treasures of her life were her grandchildren Olivia, Ryan, and Elyse. "Grandma Suzie", as she was called by them, brought an incredible amount of laugher and joy into her life as the grandchildren increased in number. She loved to laugh and play with them every chance she got.
Suzanne was very proud to have been blessed with two wonderful siblings, Fr. LeRoy and Nancy. She was very proud that her brother LeRoy could serve at the altar of God on a daily basis and that her sister Nancy and her shared a very close sisterly bond.
One of Suzanne's favorite activities that she enjoyed was singing in the St. Joan of Arc choir for 15 years, raising her voice to God in praise for the many blessings that he had bestowed upon her during her life. Suzanne had a very deep devotion to Our Lady of Perpetual Help and especially her rosary which was never far from her.
Suzanne is survived by her beloved husband Jim and her loving children Eric (Pamela) Roland, Mark (Lannea) Roland, and Jenée (Justin) Jones. She is the dearest grandmother of Olivia, Ryan, and Elyse. Also surviving Suzanne are her siblings Fr. LeRoy Moreeuw and Nancy (David) Bialy. She is pre-deceased in death by her parents Everest and Virginia Moreeuw (nee: Steiner).
Visitation for Suzanne will be held on Sunday, April 23, 2023 from 3:00-7:00pm with a Rosary Service starting at 6:00pm at Chas. Verheyden, Inc., 16300 Mack Ave., Grosse Pointe Park. Suzanne will lie instate on Monday, April 24, 2023 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church at 9:30am, with a Funeral Mass starting at 10:00am. Interment will take place at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Hi Jim, this is Pat your next door neighbor on south Brys. Sue and I are still kicking in Petoskey. Suzanne was such a lovely person. God bless you and I will say a prayer for both of you.
