Suzanne Ryan, a vibrant soul of 69 years, peacefully departed this life on February 24, 2025, enveloped in the love of her devoted family in Pembroke. She was a cherished wife to Paul Ryan, whose partnership was a beautiful testament to love and commitment. As a mother, she poured all her heart into her three sons: Michael Ryan and his wife Kate of Carver; Paul Ryan of Plymouth; and Kevin Ryan and his wife Jennifer of Pembroke, cultivating a close-knit family bound by affection and shared experiences.
Suzanne was the beloved daughter of the late William and Mary (Clancey) O'Brien, and her loving spirit will continue to resonate through her treasured grandchildren: Riley, Delany, Bailey, Ella, and Kevin, who filled her days with laughter and light. She held a special bond with her siblings-Roe Riley of Norwood; Patty O'Brien of Gloucester; Bernie O'Brien of Plymouth; Katie Doyle of Georgia; and Dennis O'Brien of Franklin-each of whom brought unique joy and companionship into her life. Suzanne was predeceased by her siblings Billy O'Brien, Dino Higgins, and Terry Didick, and their memories remain forever etched in the hearts of those who loved them. Sue is also survived by many loving cousins who will cherish her memory forever. Especially dear to her was her cousin Cathy McPhee of Carver, who's unwavering love and support were a great source of comfort. Cathy dedicated herself to caring for Sue during her illness, standing by her side until the very last moment of her life. Her kindness and devotion that was so very appreciated will never be forgotten.
For many years, Suzanne dedicated herself to her compassionate work as a social worker at Cardinal Cushing Center in Hanover, where her empathy and kindness made a profound difference in the lives of those she served. She had an innate ability to uplift others, extending her warmth not just to clients but to friends and family alike. Suzanne cherished life's simple pleasures. Whether she was out on the water, exploring the beauty of nature while boating and camping, nurturing her vibrant garden, or sharing heartfelt moments with family and friends, her spirit was filled with joy.
Her kindness and compassion reached out to everyone she encountered, leaving a lasting impact that will be lovingly remembered. In celebration of Suzanne's beautiful life, visiting hours will be held on Saturday, March 1st, from 12:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Sullivan Funeral Home, located at 551 Washington St (Route 53), Hanover, MA. A heartfelt service will follow at 2:30 PM, allowing family and friends to gather and share cherished memories. Following the service, a private burial will take place, honoring the gentle and loving nature of Suzanne's journey through life. Her family invites all who knew her to join in celebrating a life well-lived, filled with love and compassion.
