Suzanne Stuart Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cagle Funeral Home - Jasper on Jan. 19, 2026.
Suzanne Rachel Stuart (née Sawicki), 67, passed away unexpectedly on December 29, 2025, in Roswell, Georgia.

Suzanne was born in 1958 in Royal Oak, Michigan, to Walter and Virginia (née Schultz) Sawicki. Shortly thereafter, her family moved to the suburbs of Chicago, where she eventually settled in Medinah, Illinois. She graduated from St. Edward High School in Elgin, Illinois, and developed a lifelong love of animals-especially horses. An accomplished and competitive equestrian, Suzanne found both joy and freedom in riding.

Following a brief stint in Army basic training at Fort Jackson, Suzanne moved with her parents to Decatur, Georgia in 1980. Over the years, she proudly carried her identity as a veteran and embraced life with curiosity and enthusiasm. She was an avid fan of pop culture, science fiction, and fantasy, and greatly looked forward to attending Dragon Con conventions. She also held a deep admiration for Princess Diana and a special affection for Scotland, where she traveled and immersed herself in clan history and heritage.

For more than 26 years, Suzanne was the loving wife of Randolph Stuart. Together they shared a devoted marriage and made their home primarily in Lawrenceville, Georgia, building a life grounded in companionship, shared interests, and mutual support.

Suzanne had a rare and genuine gift: she could talk to anyone and everyone. Everyone she met became her friend. Cheerful, generous, and fueled by a thriving spirit of adventure, she traveled throughout Europe more than once and formed connections wherever she went. Most recently, during her short time at Brookdale, she made many new friends. Following her passing, several reached out to express their sorrow-yet another reflection of the impact she had, even in the briefest moments.

Suzanne was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Virginia Sawicki, and her older sister, Cheryl Best of Houston. She is survived by her loving husband, Randolph Stuart; her brother, Mark Sawicki, and his wife Valerie of Calabasas, California; her nieces, Mia Sawicki of Calabasas and Virginia Best of Boulder; and her nephew, John Sawicki of North Hollywood.

Suzanne will be remembered for her warmth, her openness, her adventurous spirit, and her extraordinary ability to connect with others. Her sudden passing leaves a profound void, but the friendships she formed so effortlessly and the joy she shared so freely will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

We will be holding a celebration of life on February 12, 2026, Brookdale Chambrel, 1000 Applewood Drive in Roswell, GA at 2:00 pm in the Fireside Room.
