Suzanne M. (Markwood) Yowell, 87, of Fawn Grove, entered into rest at her home on Friday, August 22, 2025. She was the wife of the late Kemper Rea Yowell, Jr. who preceded her in death on December 6, 2008.

Born on December 1, 1937, in Grayson County, VA, Suzanne was the daughter of the late William Francis and Mary Virginia (Rodes) Markwood. After her mother's passing, she was adopted by her Aunt Emma Markwood Chewning and raised in Charlottesville, VA. She dedicated many years of service as the executive secretary to the superintendent of the Southeastern School District before retiring. Suzanne was deeply involved in her community. She was a faithful member of Fawn Grove Community Church and actively participated in the Fawn Grove Olde Tyme Days. She formerly served as treasurer of the Citizens Volunteer Fire Company and was also a devoted member of the Ladies Auxiliary. In earlier years, she enjoyed fishing alongside her husband. In her free time, Suzanne enjoyed quilting, baking and sewing. Above all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her two daughters: Cynthia Y. Davis and her husband, Charles, of Pylesville, MD, and Susan Y. Coster, of Belcamp, MD, and her significant other, Alain. Suzanne was the proud grandmother of David K. Davis and his wife, Beth, of Pylesville; Craig A. Davis and his fiancée, Jessica, of Whiteford; Faith E. G. Davis and her fiancé, Evan, of Pylesville; Savannah R. Campbell and her husband, Michael, of Bel Air; and Julianna R. Geary and her husband, Danny, also of Bel Air. She leaves her great-grandchildren: Owen Davis, Drew Davis, and Maeve Rutledge, all of Pylesville; Remington Davis and Ruger Davis, of Whiteford; and Olivia Campbell, Lincoln Campbell, Eleanor Campbell, and Blair Geary, all of Bel Air. The family also eagerly awaits the arrival of Suzanne's future great-grandson, Hudson Geary, expected in February. Suzanne was preceded in death by her son, Kemper Rea Yowell III, and her siblings: Bill, Tom, Bob, Betty, Lynn, and Josephine.

Services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Wagner-Elfner and Burg Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion, is assisting the family with arrangements on behalf of Harkins Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be offered in Suzanne's memory to: Delta Senior Center and Citizens Volunteer Fire Company.
