Suzette Ferrell Rogers was born January 22, 1951, to Luther and Ruby (Henderson) Ferrell in Bryan, Texas. Suzette grew up in North Zulch where she participated in her church and school. She was part of the Lady Bulldog Volleyball and Basketball teams. Suzette earned the ranking of Valedictorian in her class. She graduated on May 23, 1969, and that same night, married the love of her life, Michael Rogers. They moved to Houston where Suzette attended Westview Baptist Church and was baptized there. Later, they moved to Georgia to live with family. In 1970, Suzette gave birth to her only child, Tammy, in Savannah, Georgia. Shortly after Tammy’s birth in December of 1970, they returned to Texas where they lived in Houston for a few years, then moved back home to North Zulch.
Suzette always worked hard. She sold tupperware, Christmas Around the World, and Mary Kay all while working a full-time job at Feather Crest Farms. After thirty-three years, retirement came early at the age of sixty-three when she began to battle health issues.
Suzette was a member of First Baptist Church North Zulch. She taught Sunday School, TEAM Kids, played the organ, went on mission trips, and served in VBS - if it involved the church she was there. She helped many of the elderly people in the church with their things. She loved God and loved helping others. She was a prayer warrior. She would pray for you or pray with you on the spot.
Suzette went home to be with her Savior on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at her home in North Zulch. She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Ruby Ferrell and her brother, James Mac Ferrell. Suzette is survived by her daughter, Tammy Patterson, and son-in-law, Pard Patterson; her grandchildren, Shelbi Bayer and her husband, Colton, Jacob Scott and wife, Brittany, Gunnar Patterson and his fiance, Alex, AND Canyon Rodriguez and her husband, Mario’; four great-grandchildren, Blakeli, Tucker, Kolbi and Charlotte; and her niece and nephews, Julianna Ferrell, Maxie Ferrell and James Ferrell, as well as numerous great nieces, nephews, and countless friends.
