Suzi Dang Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Woodlawn Funeral Home & Garden of Memories on Oct. 3, 2025.
Suzi Dao Dang, formerly known as Sac Thi Dao, a beloved mother of 4 children and grandmother of 6 grandchildren, was a loyal and hardworking person, passed away swiftly on February 11, 2025, at the age of 85. She was surrounded by her children and grandchildren at Memorial Hermann Greater Heights Hospital, Houston, TX.
Born on February 6, 1940, in Thai Binh, Vietnam, Suzi is preceded in death by her parents Ban Thanh Dao and An Thi Pham, her older sister, Xuan Thi Dao and her daughter, Minh Phuong Dang. Throughout her turbulent life, Suzi was devoted to her family with unwavering love and steadfast support. She was married to Au Van Dang and had 4 children: My (Michael) Van Dang, Yen Bao Dang, Tu Anh Dang, and Tuoc (Kate) Hong Dang, who will forever be grateful for her unconditional love, faithfulness, loyalty, kindness, and generosity. In addition to her children, Suzi is survived by her younger brother, Quyet Thanh Dao, and her 6 grandchildren who miss her dearly.
She thoroughly enjoyed working and rarely took vacations but finally found her foothold at Houston Public Works for 25 years when she retired in 2022.
Suzi had a passion for gardening and music, adopting 3 dogs on euthanasia list, feeding feral cats later in her golden age, and watching Fox News fervently – all of which she enjoyed immensely. Although a lifelong Republican supporter, she always had a tremendous soft spot for the street panhandlers - always quick to give money unsolicited. She also supported many different animal organizations.
