Suzy D. Hicks, aged 62, peacefully passed away on February 8, 2026, in Flemington, New Jersey. Born on August 6, 1963, in Woodward, Oklahoma, Suzy's life was a testament to dedication and selflessness, leaving an indelible mark on the lives she touched throughout her journey.
A proud graduate of Taloga High School, Suzy was not only known for her academic achievements but also for her energetic spirit on the basketball court. Her roots in rural Oklahoma were deeply ingrained, having grown up working on her family’s cattle farm. With an active engagement in the 4H Club, Suzy showcased her prized cattle and embraced the heart of Oklahoma life. Her fervent support for the Oklahoma Sooners remained a passionate aspect of her persona.
With a remarkable career spanning over 40 years, Suzy served as the IT Director at MetLife and Optum, Inc., where her unwavering dedication and work ethic were celebrated by colleagues and management alike. A workaholic by nature, she approached her professional responsibilities with the same zeal that defined her personal life.
At home, Suzy was a nurturing soul who derived immense joy from caring for her cats and dogs. She created a sanctuary filled with love, warmth, and cherished moments, the highlight of which was spending precious time with her granddaughter, Chloe. Suzy treasured the role of Team Mom, passionately supporting her daughter Katherine in soccer and basketball, often seen cheering from the sidelines with a heart full of pride.
In her quieter moments, Suzy found peace in her garden, delighting in planting flowers and watching them bloom, as well as losing herself in the pages of her favorite novels. In every endeavor, whether it was professional or personal, Suzy’s unwavering spirit and selflessness shone bright.
She leaves behind her beloved husband, Steven G. Hicks, with whom she shared 36 years of marriage, and their daughter, Katherine Hicks (Alex), residing in Flemington, NJ. Grandmother to Chloe, Suzy held an unbreakable bond with her granddaughter, often sharing countless joyful moments together. Also surviving her are her brother Monty (Janet) Moore of Norman, OK, along with several cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, all of whom will carry forward her legacy of love and kindness.
Suzy D. Hicks is predeceased by her parents, William and Gerry (Jones) Moore. As we remember Suzy, we honor a life lived with passion, commitment, and a profound love for her family, friends, and community. Her memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know her.
