Suzzanne Meister Gines, age 64, of Mt. Emmons, Utah, passed away from cancer on October 29, 2023 at her home with her husband and daughters by her side.
Sue was born April 23, 1959 in Salt Lake City, and raised by Robert and Marylyn Petersen Pullan. She married her best friend, Robert “Bob” Wayne Gines on May 12, 1989 where they shared 36 years doing everything together, two peas in a pod.
Sue was a people person, she loved her family, and most of all, loved being a grandma. She enjoyed camping, fishing, horse races, and hanging out by the campfire with family. She was a lover of animals, always kind, typically witty, funny, sarcastic to a fault and had a laugh we all loved. She was the first to offer help, the person we all turned to, and the most stubborn woman we knew! She was happy by nature, a great listener, and a hard worker who took pride in the work she did. If you were lucky enough to know Sue, you’d often see her wearing her big dangly earrings, big hoodies and slippers, which reflected her big, beautiful personality. She loved everything about Christmas and looked forward to hosting the Christmas party with Santa for all the kids, especially once she had her Christmas room.
She always wanted to move to Duchesne county and was so happy to finally find a home in Mt. Emmons where she immediately started creating her farm. In the short 2 years she lived here, she touched many people’s hearts with her genuine love for others. She made some great friends, reconnected with old friends, and her reputation for good food spread throughout the county. She will be missed by many and was truly loved by all.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Gines, children, Casey Sue (Todd) Smart, Carey Ann Pullan, Kyle Kevin Pullan, Jonna Geesje Gines, Shannon Claire Pullan, 12 grandchildren, and her siblings, Tony (Dianna) Doty, Mike (Cindy) Pullan, Joe Pullan, Sherri Timmerman and Kenny (Alison) Pullan.
She is preceded in death by her parents Bob and Marylyn Pullan and Johan Meister, son Josh Gines, brother-in-law Jim Timmerman and sister-in-law Karen Pullan.
Celebration of Life Viewing will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2023 from 10:30 - 12:00 p.m. at the Duchesne Elementary School in Duchesne 168 West 200 North.
Burial will follow in the Strawberry Cemetery with a luncheon served following the burial back at the Duchesne Elementary School.
