Swanette "Swan" Kann

Swanette Kann, 82, Green Bay passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, September 27, 2025 with her family by her side. Swanette was born on April 13, 1943 in Groningen, Netherlands the daughter of the now late Dirk and Trijntje (Wieringa) Deinema. Her Dad and Mom moved their family to Chicago, Illinois when she was a young girl where she would eventually meet her future husband. On February 3, 1962 she married Robert Kann Sr. at St. Dorothy's Church in Chicago, Illinois and moved to Green Bay to raise their family. The couple enjoyed over 50 years together. Robert preceded her in death on January 13, 2013. Swan's favorite holiday was Christmas. She always had decorations, including Christmas trees, in every room and was very proud to show off her Nativity set. She enjoyed going to auctions and collecting antiques. Swan liked to spend her time in the sun, reading, gardening and being with family. Mom always appreciated the beauty of fresh cut flowers and often had them in her home. Swanette is survived by her children: Mary (Dave) DeMars, Bob Kann, Jr., and his special friend: Cheryl, Tricia Kann, Laura (Josh) Kowaleski, Oma of Eric (Kalyn) DeMars, Ryan (Cassie) DeMars, Kylie and Addison Kowaleski. Oma was very excited for the arrival of her first great-grandchild due in January of 2026. She is further survived by one sibling, nieces, nephews, other relatives, extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her siblings, and one daughter-in-law: Carole Kann. In accordance with Swan's wishes, a private gathering was held for the immediate family and she was laid to rest at Forest Home Cemetery, Crivitz. The family would like to thank the entire staff of Unity Hospice especially Jordin, Olivia, Kristen and Dawn for all their loving care, compassion and support- your kindness will never be forgotten.
