Sylinda Ann "Sally" Cole

Sally (Sylinda) A. Taylor Cole, 85, of Bellefonte, passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at Eagle Valley Personal Care Home in Milesburg. Born on September 5, 1940, in Bellefonte, she was the daughter of the late James G. and Barbara E. (Shultz) Taylor. On August 23, 1958 she married her beloved husband, Ward G. Cole, who preceded her in death on August 9, 2025, after sharing nearly 67 years of marriage together.

Sally was a 1958 graduate of Bellefonte Area High School. After several years at home raising her three children, Sally worked at Penn State University for twenty-five years, until she retired as a housing manager in 2000.

She is survived by her three children, Jody Anderson (Ken) of Charlottesville, Virginia, Charles Cole of Bellefonte, and David Cole (Michele) of Bellefonte; six grandchildren: Daniel Cole (Krista), Meghan Pearson (Joe), Kenneth Anderson (Elizabeth), Jenna Rankin (Zach), Logan Cole and Lexi Cole; and five great grandchildren, Rowan and Warren Cole, Nora Jane Rankin, and Baker and Georgia Anderson. Also surviving are her siblings: Molly Riser of Port Matilda, Joan Smith of Shippensburg, Mary Bumbarger of Julian, James Taylor II of Julian, Thomas E. Taylor of Snow Shoe, Susan Walk of Julian, Sharon Neff of Howard, Ann Masullo of Bellefonte, and Jan Walk of Julian.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Lori Cole.

Sally was excellent at sewing, knitting, crocheting, and a variety of crafts which she always enjoyed giving to loved ones and friends. She was also known for the delicious peanut butter fudge she made to give away every year at Christmas. One of her favorite roles in life was being "Gram" or "Grammy Cole" to her six grandchildren and five great grandchildren who she loved with all of her heart.

In lieu of flowers, the family asked that donations be made to Eagle Valley Personal Care Home or Hospice 365. The family would also like to thank the staff at both Eagle Valley and Hospice 365 for the excellent care they provided for Sally these past several months.

Funeral and burial services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
